Why eVillage
Africa is the second largest continent in the world and home to nearly 1 billion people. It is a rich mix of cultures, languages, ethnic groups, and political systems. Despite vast natural resources and minerals, Africa remains the poorest region in terms of wealth and poverty rate is higher than any other continent in the world. The vast majority of Africans live below the poverty line on less than $2 per day. Poverty has a negative impact on health, education and other social factors. This why there is a need for job creation anc economic growth.
The proven drivers of such development are entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial intiative, unfortunately as at today there is single institution that solely develops and create entrepreneurs, Hence we have decided to create a haven that not just fosters creative and practical knowledge transfer but also provides an enabling environment for entrepreneurs to thrive, a community that enhance job creation, poverty eradication, innovation, creativity and social impact/development.
Imagine a continent where the vast majority of young people have access to a haven for information revolution. Imagine Africans working together across borders – sharing ideas, promoting entrepreneurship, building innovations, creating new businesses and reaching their full potential.
Our goal is to create a hub for innovation and creativity, where students, staff and faculty members can come together to share ideas and learn outside of conventional classroom settings while practically implementing this knowledge for economic growth and development.
